High standards in health and safety lead to RoSPA Gold awards win for VolkerRail.
VolkerRail has been awarded the ROSPA Gold and RoSPA MORR Gold awards by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The RoSPA Gold award was received for high performance levels in occupational health and safety and the RoSPA MORR Gold for the company's management of occupational road risk.
David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager, said: "The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems such as VolkerRail, contribute to a collective rising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations."
Stuart Webster Spriggs, HSQE director at VolkerRail said: "This is another great achievement for VolkerRail. The health and safety of our employees is at the heart of everything we do and these awards recognise our commitment."
RoSPA is the UK's family safety charity. Their mission is to save lives and reduce injuries covering all ages and stages of life.
The RoSPA Awards date back 58 years and recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants' overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The awards will be presentation to VolkerRail on the 14th May at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
