Ninth consecutive RoSPA Award for VolkerRail
VolkerRail’s continued commitment to safety has once again been recognised by RoSPA, resulting in the business receiving its ninth consecutive Gold Medal Fleet Safety award for outstanding occupational road risk management, and its seventh consecutive Gold Medal award in recognition of its health and safety performance.
Run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, RoSPA is the longest running industry awards scheme in the UK and its Gold Medal awards are only presented to organisations who have reached five or more consecutive years of achievement.
Stuart Webster-Spriggs, HSQES director for VolkerRail, said: “It’s fantastic that our teams have once again maintained our high standards of safety. To receive this recognition from RoSPA is testament to their hard work and dedication in creating a strong and positive health and safety culture.”
The East West Rail Alliance, formed of VolkerRail, Network Rail, Atkins and Laing O’Rourke, also received a RoSPA Gold award, following its first submission to the scheme.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safe in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere.”
