VolkerRail highly commended at UK Excellence Awards

Now in its 30th year, the BQF represents excellence in performance improvement, helping organisations enhance their reputation, learn from best practice, and achieve sustainable excellence.

The UK Excellence Awards is an opportunity for organisations to showcase their commitment to innovation, quality and excellence, on a national stage.

VolkerRail's quality team is responsible for VolkerRail's Integrated Management System, the creation of quality management plans, audit and inspection schedules, and non-conformance reports. This helps the business to deliver right first time construction for clients, maintains compliance responsibilities, and helps the business continuously improve its procedures.

This was recognised by the BQF, resulting in the team being highly commended in the Being Excellent - Best Team Award. A new award, designed to recognise teams who demonstrate excellent ways of working, by collaborating and supporting each other.

Head of quality systems, Gail Raeburn, commented on her team's achievement, saying: "I am so proud of how the team has performed this year. Together, they have worked hard to build understanding of quality principles in the business, integrated into project teams, and continue to improve our systems and processes."

The awards ceremony was held at the London Hilton Bankside on Thursday 5 October 2023.
