The company was awarded the distinction for clearly demonstrating its commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce and other stakeholders during 2015.

A merit award was awarded to the company’s joint venture, the Staffordshire Alliance for their work on the Stafford Area Improvements Programme.

HSQE director, Stuart Webster-Spriggs, said: “We are delighted to receive this award for the third year in a row and are honoured that our commitment to safety is recognised to such a high standard. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and visitors on site as well as the community around us is of paramount importance to us and these awards highlight the measures we have in place to ensure this continues.

This year also marks a record high for VolkerWessels UK after other projects and joint across the group receiving a further nine awards.

The International Safety Awards, currently in their 58th year, celebrate and promote the success of the winning organisations and their employees in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all. They are open to businesses, public and third sector bodies of all sizes and sectors.
