VolkerRail receives eighth consecutive RoSPA Award

VolkerRail continues to be recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for its commitment to safety, and has been presented with its eighth consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal Award for health and safety performance, and a RoSPA President’s Award for managing occupational road risk.

The RoSPA Awards are the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK and recognise achievements in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

These awards are presented annually, with the 2023 results praising VolkerRail’s performance throughout 2022.

This is the third time VolkerRail has received a RoSPA President’s Award for its management of occupational road risk. The President’s Award is the highest award bestowed by RoSPA and is only presented to companies that have achieved ten or more Gold Awards.

Stuart Webster-Spriggs, HSQES director, said: “This is a true reflection of our commitment to safety, and is a testament to our ethos of ensuring that everyone gets home safe every day.

“I would like to take this moment to thank our employees, and our wider supply chain, for their continued commitment, support, and engagement.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded.

“We are thrilled that VolkerRail has won a RoSPA Award and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, clients, and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
