ALC Beaver tamper - North Yorkshire Moors
We helped the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) prepare a section of track in readiness for the arrival of the famous Flying Scotsman locomotive.
Finished eight hours ahead of schedule, we used our ALC switch and crossing plain line beaver tamper to successfully align a 200m section of track and levelled two switch and crossing assembly points, between Levisham and Pickering station.
This project is one of many that we undertake for heritage railways, to assist with the maintenance of the track to enable the running of their locomotives.
